Empowering Cancer Patients and Streamlining Care with the eHealth Station
Challenge: Helsinki: Wildcard – How can innovative remote diagnostics improve city services?
Target Group: Hospital Patients
MedicubeX deployed its fully autonomous self-measurement system, the eHealth Station, at the Helsinki University Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Centre. The project involved developing a clinical process enabling cancer patients to incorporate the Station into their care pathway. This process aims to enhance the detection of changes in patients’ overall health through non-invasive, self-administered measurements conducted both between and alongside scheduled appointments. The Station was installed in February 2025 and was in daily use until fall 2025, as the pilot decided to continue after CommuniCity piloting ended.
Feedback was collected already from the first months from around 200 patients and tens of clinical staff. In collaboration with the host organisation, the MedicubeX team developed operational procedures, user instructions, signage, digital display content, brochures, and patient correspondence materials.
